One of the most popular tournaments of India – IPL 2020 which got almost suspended for this year is now going to happen in UAE (United Arab Emirates). On 24th July 2020, the IPL Governing Council chairman Brijesh Patel declared the statement.
After many postponements of IPL season 13 due to the ongoing COVID 19 virus epidemic, finally, a piece of good news has flashed for the hopeful fans of the Indian Premier League. Since the virus worsening the situation in India, it has become a life-risking task of millions of people to host IPL season 13 in India.
Fortunately, the Emirates Cricket Broad has reached out to BCCI with an offer to host the tournament in UAE – the least affected country with COVID 19. They have a strong infrastructure & all the requirements for hosting the IPL 2020 that made BCCI accept the proposal.
The planning of hosting the season 13 of IPL will begin soon once the Indian Government grants the permission. The probability of permission grant from the Indian Government is very much YES, said by Brijesh Patel.
Dates have been also revealed by the IPL Governing Council. If everything goes as planned then the first match of IPL 2020, season 13 will be held on 19th September and finals on 8th November.
At this time, ICC T20 World Cup was supposed to be happening in Australia with all the participant players. But as the country is also badly affected by the virus, it is not possible to host the world cup. But the cancelation of the T20 World cup opened the door for IPL 2020, thanks to the Emirates Cricket Board who offered BCCI to host Season 13 IPL.
Now, we will need to wait for a few days to let the BCCI plan for everything to make sure the player’s safety & all the things that matter to be considered. After all, the tournament is going to happen in a different country. Meanwhile, this is challenging and a lot of things will need to be considered before making it happen.
